You know, this one time I got a letter from the Department of Motor Vehicles and instead of charging me money, THEY SENT ME A CHECK!!!! Now every time I get one of those envelopes from the DMV, I open it right away in hope that it WON’T be bad news, but a SURPRISE!

This is the perfect analogy for “Read More” posts.  I see them and foolishly think “If I click this I’ll see amazing secret stuff!!!” then I click it and it’s either bleak I-want-to-end-my-life stuff or messages to one’s ex that seem as though they were written by a Sphinx.  I still always click, but man, just once, I’d like a “check in the mail.”
